OK, here is what I have done:

I am assuming I will lose my job (I would rather be prepared and then end up pleasantly surprised) so I have cut back on what spending I can, stopped snowball payments to credit cards, and have saved up any extra money to make sure I have as much of a cushion as I can. (basically enlarging the e-fund)

I am working on my contacts both internal and external (I will have two months of paid time to try to find a new job inside the company as well as outside)

I have figured out my severance package (looks to be 21 weeks of full pay)

Here is what I am doing this weekend:
polishing resume and posting it to as many tech websites as I can find (I am a SAS programmer)

Here are things I wold love to know more about:
COBRA and alternatives. I am single, no dependents, young, and healthy. I have one prescription I have filled each month, other than that I end up at the doctor only once or twice a year and usually then it is only because the copay is so cheap.

Any other suggestions people have.
