@Home vs AOL - perhaps the most direct competition

COMMENTARY

AOL, which started out as a content provider before the internet took off and now has about 14 million subscribers. The current gorilla in the ISP world and the company which @Home has squarely in its sights to knock of the throne.

What can I say? Steve Case, the aggressive head of America Online (AOL) has competed so well that he has become the Gorilla in the ISP market. (A 500 pound Gorilla in an industry is an oft repeated concept that I don't want to explain here. If your interested, see post #1499) @Home is perfectly suited and situated to topple AOL in this King of the Hill game (though I don't know if The Motley Fool's will play court jester to them alone, there are a lot of Kings out there! ;o) ).
