Few are talking about the entitlements that are coming our way. There is no we can finance them.

First: many people are talking about them. Second: like the times they've been talked about before, I see nothing to indicate they're actually coming our way. Third: we can finance them.

We're told that we can't afford health care, because be believe that it actually costs ten thousand dollars to fix a broken arm. We're told that we can't afford college, because we believe that it actually costs $50,000 per year to educate someone. At the same time, we're told that we can afford to let corporations and the ultra-wealthy have their taxes cut in half, because that doesn't cost anything, and probably even brings more money in.

So yeah, if we insist on vastly overpaying costs, and giving back the revenue as fast as we can shovel it, it's gonna be hard to afford.

Ben Hunt said that wage and price inflation aren’t coming. They’re already here. Over the past four quarters, the United States has generated more wage inflation than any other point over the past 40 years...
This is not an anomaly. This is not a single quarter aberration. This is not transitory.
This is four straight quarters of the highest wage growth numbers in 40 years.

Oh, good one! Had to wait a minute to stop laughing!

The past four quarters, you say? So that's ... let's see ... 2020-03-31 to 2021-03-31. Well, that's just a random 12-month period much like any other; certainly no anomaly there.

The S&P 500 gained more than 50% in those same four quarters (the Nasdaq 100 a good deal more than that). This is not an anomaly. This is not a single quarter aberration. This is not transitory. This is four straight quarters of the highest market gain numbers in ... well, I don't have per-quarter numbers handy, but it beats any yearly returns going back to 1928.

I'm afraid the wage numbers are the exact definition of an anomaly.
