Few trade for their own account and really understand how markets work, and --more importantly-- they don't understand how to manage 'risk'.

I posted somewhere recently that when I called my insurance company to cancel (cash out) a variable annuity type of life insurance policy, the agent asked what I was going to do with the money. I said the life insurance policy was too expensive for what it offered, and that I was going to buy shares of BRK.B with it. He said he was thinking about cashing out his own personal policy for the same reason. I was amazed that he thought that way and even more amazed he would tell me.
