First congratulations on your first sale...always fun to see your name in print for the first time...now get over it and sell that next piece.

Sold. I'm editing it right now...don't like what the editor did to it. I had it nice and smooth. She chopped it up like a chinese salad. Oh well. I guess that's writing. Let the fighting begin.

Anyway, thanks for the advice on rights. One thing that surprised me about all this was that even though I gave them exclusive rights, they asked, becuase a company asked, if my article could be distributed in an internal company magazine, and since it is not a "paid for" pubilication, just an internal company thing, I agreed. But, I was surprised they asked me. So, I'm not sure what rights I signed away. Since, it was my first time being published, I was just excited.

But, for this next piece, I am going to drill into the exact meaning of what they mean by "exclusive rights".
