First consideration is that your doctors and hospitals are in network. But second is an extensive list, which can give you more choices for your future needs.

This must be watched closely if you are receiving services from multiple specialists while admitted to a hospital. We're covered by Kaiser's Senior Advantage plan where this is not an issue. But I have heard stories of individuals who received services from specialists/consultants while admitted that were not part of the PPO network and so not covered by the advantage plan.
