Todd was really excited. The transporter had just delivered the newest
addition to his growing collection of vintage autos, a '91 Tata Sierra, the
first auto ever manufactured in India. Even though powered by a relatively
unsophisticated diesel, it was equipped with some really cool features
like adjustable steering, power windows, and even a tach.
After checking all the fluids, he fired it up and took a leisurely drive through his
estate, checking out everything to make sure it worked. All was cool untill he
tried to fire up the stereo. No sound came from the speakers, not even static.
Todd was a little pissed at this, but figured he'd just drive it back to his own
well appointed shop and track down the problem.
He first checked the fuse and it looked okay, but he replaced it anyways.
No luck. He then checked all the connections, including pulling off the door
panels to make sure that there were even speakers there, and of course if
they were hookedup correctly. No luck again. Everything appeared to be in
order. Todd was flummoxed. Then he thought of his East Indian mechanic
friend, Karguyh Renjit. Surely he would know the solution.
Todd gave him a call and explained the problem. "Oh yes" said Carguyh.
"Very common problem with Tata. Have fix many time. Just get in car and
sit behind wheel".
"Okay" said Todd, "I'm there".
"Great" said Carguyh," Now put key in and turn all the way left to Accessory"
"Yes" Todd said, "I've done that but still no sound"
"Fine, fine" said Carguyh."Now just reach over...... and Bangladesh"
