First:

It was "all about" the switches and cable hook ups coming into the building. I have a list of items that RCN replaced and reinstalled and the speed has improved for me and the handful of other owners in his building who use the service.

This "issue" was only rectified by my persistence and refusal to be blown off by RCN employees who consistently stated that speed below 56k was normal.

Second:

I don't find solace in the fact that those using Cox Roadrunner are having problems. I bought shares in the company and service based on a committment by the founder of the company. That comittment did not say, "we will supply you the same medicore and poor service that you are experiencing by all other cable services".

Bottom line: When investing in a new company, DO YOUR HOMEWORK instead of taking in the public relations.
