Following up on this thread, the EIA has released their annual figures for 2020, and the U.S. did indeed end up being a net exporter of petroleum - to the tune of about 650 kbpd:

Again, the pandemic certainly affected 2020's oil demand, and can't be considered an ordinary year for oil markets. But still, the U.S. had turned into a net exporter by late 2019 - before the pandemic hit.

So this may end up being the new normal - the U.S. as a net oil exporter.
