Foolanthropy has officially launched today and named All Hands & Hearts as the charitable partner for this 2017 campaign.

We at The Motley Fool have been deeply touched by the natural disasters that have struck around the world. We want to help — and this holiday season, we've found an excellent partner in All Hands & Hearts, which mobilizes volunteers to rebuild after earthquakes, floods, fires, and other tragedies. -- The Motley Fool

Just in time for Charitable Tuesday, we hit 100 Recs on my 50K post so I have gone ahead to make an initial donation of $100 to All Hands & Hearts. Actually, I paid $103.57 to cover the transaction costs so that I could represent 100% of your Recs. We'll take a look at the Rec total on December 29th a the close of the challenge and I'll make a second donation based on the Recs received over 100.

Here is some information to get you interested in making your own donations, besides the tax deduction benefits.

All Hands & Hearts doesn't just show up and provide free meals and assistance. The volunteers this organization supports roll up their sleeves and get their hands dirty, ripping out damaged floors and drywall, damaged plumbing and appliances, and unsafe ceilings and structures. How do we know? Because a team of Fools went to Houston last fall to roll up their own sleeves and become a volunteer:

All Hands & Hearts is the result of a merger between All Hands Volunteers and Happy Hearts Funds, both nonprofits formed in the wake of the 2004 earthquake and tsunami in the Indian Ocean. Combined, the two organizations have:

• Conducted over 80 relief programs around the world
• Served 1,165,000 families
• Returned 105,200 children to school
• Rebuilt 196 schools
• Brought in 45,500 volunteers to get their hands dirty
• Facilitated 289,000 days of volunteer service
• Earned a Exemplory 4 out of 4 Star rating on Charity Navigator

Alyce Lomax (TMFLomax) introduced this year's Foolanthropy here:

The amount of volunteer work that is needed is huge and so are the ambitions of Foolanthropy this holiday season, setting an initial goal of raising $150,000. You can get in on the action with your own donation here:

How much should you give? That's up to you, but here's a guide as to how far your donations could go:

• $25 - Protective gear including safety glasses, gloves, construction helments, mold remiation masks
• $50 - Tools to help volunteers muck and gut a home, such as a wheelbarrow
• $75 - Pave the way to rebuilding by clearing a family home of debris, water, ruined building materials
• $100 - Sanitize a flooded home to remove life-threatening mold
• $250 - Outfit volunteers with chainsaws & high powered machinery to remove trees, destroyed property and heavy depris
• $500 - Provide the tools to restore a family's clean water and sanitation
• $1000 - Build a temporary school to allow up to 50 kids to return to their educations while their homes and community is rebuilt

Pick how much you want to give and then go here:
