I have taken quite some time getting ready to make my first investments (you know: getting the money ready, reading up on stuff, and getting a broker). Still, having been away recently, I decided to brush up on some of the more pertinent materials I had read before finally taking my first steps.

On the Foolish Four Explained page, I saw that one should wait until December to make Foolish Four trades. This confuses me because the Motley Fool investment guide advises that it does not matter what day one chooses to invest as long as it is the same day every year.

Did I misunderstand the December advice? Are there truly advantages to investing in December? Are there disadvantages to investing in other months?
