Looking at many of the recommendations that Fool gives us has been in many ways very dumb investments.
Trading Desk
Lemonade
TLRY
Trupanion
TDOC
WKHS
and many others
some declined 60% when they were recommended.

Why do you pan the G boys' recs and then commit the same mistake of basing future performance on past performance with your prediction that "RIOT will 'out-perform' the SP5500" when a chart says otherwise? https://schrts.co/ZqYcxbTq

I despise the scam the boys are running. But who is at fault? Them and their bad guesses, or them who paid for that advice and --worse-- acted on it without doing the least bit of credible due-diligence? No matter one's supposed track record, be it Schwab's "A" list, or Zack's, or ValueLine's, or VectorVest's, etc., stock tips are just suggestions that need to be vetted, because most of them won't work out as predicted.

Every time the G'boyz give a recommendation you must go to the charts to see when is the best time to buy it.

It appears that WKHS was a classic PND and or a frontrunner. In other words, you got caught holding the bag. WKHS should have been sold on or about 02/05/2021. However, as a swing trader, it does not matter, we always make a profit.
On the 5th, there were two (2) successful trades. One could have earned about 7K in 8 days. and the last one was in on 5/14 @ 7.59 and sold on 5/21/21 @ 8.75. A little of 1K in profit. Swingers know when to get in and when to get out with a substantial profit.

One does not make any money BUYING - HOLDING - PRAYING. This is a trader's market.

https://www.barchart.com/stocks/quotes/WKHS/interactive-char... follow the green line crossing over the red line as a confirmation. Drag the chart to the right and follow back the two weighted moving averages.

Just a thought,

Quill,

I'm going to disagree with you on what coulda/shoulda been done with WKHS.
Its extreme volatility made it nearly impossible to "trade".
Yeah, retrospectively, one could cherry pick a rule set that produced better profits than B&H.
But the "average" investor isn't interested in trading. That's a reality that has to be respected.
Hence, the often horrific losses that come with B&H have to be accepted as "part of the game".

what about tilray? Does MF still recommend it over companies like Trulieve?

Tilray was such a bust for me. Trulieve, which I got from a youtube guy who did a super thorough analysis, was green the whole time the rest of my portfolio was red. Winner.

I am up 1100% on TTD since purchasing months after the fool first rec it.
up over 100% with TDOC
up 70% with LMND
the list goes on and on . of course there are a bunch of losers in there but the winners although fewer of them do so much better overall leaving me ahead.
I do not have any professional stock-picking skills and am paying and relying on the fool to do a better job with that than I ever could and so far they have.
Overall across the entire portfolio IRA and Non-IRA equities, I am up 97% over 3 years.
As a non-professional and someone who does not have the time or skill to vet the stocks, I think I am getting a pretty good deal.

I actually have to correct myself, I have 81 stocks that are up and 30 that are down as of today. So definitely more winners then loosers,

So you bought LMND back before Oct. 2020 or before MF even recommended it. Because when they recommended it the stock was way higher than it is currently.
