For me it all comes down to exactly what implementation under what circumstances.

I am absolutely in favor of much higher public expenditure towards advanced infrastructural projects (especially with multi decadal payoffs), ongoing education, and CCC style work for those (mostly but not always youths) more interested in physical than mental effort.

There is a hell of a lot of stuff that needs doing, and not getting it done because the benefits are diffused, communal, and long term rather than pointed, corporate, and short term is STOOPID. Especially if there are people capable of working.
