Most of your questions are too hard for me. I'll leave them for other people to answer. Here's one that's easy, however:

How do I calculate price of shares of stock for capital gains when I sell them?

Good news: You can trade as much as you like inside an IRA and no capital gains taxes are due, ever. For tax purposes, there is no such thing as a capital gain inside an IRA.

Bad news: Whenever you take money out of the IRA, it will be taxed as ordinary income, even if in fact it is results from capital gains.

Chips, who's sitting on a bunch of capital gains in his IRA and planning to pay a lot more than 20% tax on IRA distributions ten to twenty years from now.
