Forgive me, HOGridin. But I have to challenge a few of those statements.

"All electric USA is far cheaper & Cleaner."

But now where exactly does this "clean" electricity come from in Ohio (or is it Colorado?)? Hydro is clean, but we are not going to build much more. Nuclear has its problems. Most of the rest comes from coal. And no matter how clean they say it is, I doubt it. Where do those cinders go? Where does the slag from the sulfur scrubbers go? In "Who killed the electric car," we learned that the car was killed in part because the plants that made the electricity were dirty. Hence, opponents claimed you merely moved pollution from one place to another.

"But no one lobbies for electric"

Have you seen the series of coal commercials on TV about how "clean" it is? Emissions have been reduced by 35% while energy production has doubled, according to the ads. Where do you think these come from?

Coal is a powerful lobby backed up by big money and by the mining industry in state with coal (which seems to be most of the states).
