Does anyone know where I can locate the a list of fractional cents on a dollar? I saw one somewhere but I can't remember what site it was in. I only know that I didn't have a printer available when I saw it and have never found it again. I was working on my laptop at the time I located it and did not write the location down or bookmark it. PLEASE HELP ME LOCATE IT!!! I'm desperate.

It drives me crazy not knowing the fractional amount on the stocks I own. When the ticker tape appears with something like 15/16th's, 15/32's to a non savvy math person is mind boggling and very frustrating. I can use all the help I can get with this new venture of stock trading.

Carol Sue --

I don't know of any list anywhere, but let me show you how to figure it out for yourself, with a calculator. (If you already know this, then forgive my presumption. But perhaps it'll be of use or interest to others, at least.)

For 15/16, or for any number, you take the top number and divide it by the bottom one.

So:

15 / 16 = 0.9375

So 15/16 is the same as \$0.94, if you round the number up to the nearest penny.

1/16 = 0.0625 = 6 cents, rounded down.

33/64 = 0.5156, or 52 cents.

5/8 = 0.625, or 63 cents.

Once you get used to the math, you can create your own chart. :)

Hope that helps!

cst10,

I don't know about a link to a table either, but just to give you a little piece of mind. I think in July this year the major exchanges will be converting to decimals. Thus, we can invest in real dollar and cents instead of stupid and complicated fraction. Like any of us really wants to figure out 37/64ths.

If I find a table I will report back with a link.
