In a 60 Minutes interview this weekend, interviewer Lesley Stahl asked Pelosi about whether the different factions within the Democratic party are fractured, singling out

Stahl: "You are contending with a group in Congress. Over here on the left flank are these self-described socialists. On the right these moderates. You yourself said that you're the only one who can unify everybody. And the questions is - can you?

Pelosi: By in large, whatever orientation they came to Congress with, they know that we have to hold the center. That we have to go down the mainstream.

Stahl: They know that?

Pelosi: They do

Stahl: But it doesn't look like that. It looks as if it's fractured.... You have these wings - AOC and her group on one side

Pelosi interjects: "well that's like five people."

The Congressional Progressive Caucus has 98 members, making it the second largest group in Congress, according to the New NY Post, which notes that AOC is one of the group's most prominent freshmen members.

Pelosi is not in control. Good news for the GOP. Likely the progressives will drive the party platform to the far left driving more voters away.

Yep ---- just like McGovern in 1972. Or Goldwater in 1964 for Republicans.

That gives Trump the opportunity to occupy the center ----which he already does in many ways.

Classic formula for a Dem electoral disaster.

All the hate being spewed by liberals and the news media ----and a goodly number of people on political discussion boards, just help build that Trump supermajority.

Frankly, Trump could never have been elected in 2016 without the aid given by foolish Democrats. We have needed their support again in 2020, and they are providing it in spades!

1. On Twitter: "Nancy Pelosi says ‘glass of water with letter ‘D’ next to it’ could have won AOC’s district"

2. I see a lot of Tweets tagged with #Blexit. That's for Blacks Exiting the Democrat Party.

A pertinent story:

A teacher asked her class how many of them were Bernie Sanders fans.

Not really knowing what a Bernie Sanders fan is, but wanting to be liked
by the teacher, all the kids raised their hands except for Little Johnny.

The teacher asked Little Johnny why he has decided to be different...again.

Little Johnny said, 'Because I'm not a Bernie Sanders fan.'

The teacher asked, 'Why aren't you a Bernie Sanders fan?'

Johnny said, 'Because I'm a Conservative.'

The teacher asked him why he's a Conservative. Little Johnny answered, 'Well, my Mum's a Conservative and my Dad's a Conservative, so I'm a Conservative.'

Annoyed by this answer, the teacher asked, 'If your Mum was a Moron and your Dad was an idiot, what would that make you?'

Little Johnny replied, 'A Bernie Sanders fan.'

Good question except the Democratic party does not exist.

The Democratic party of Nancy Pelosi does not represent real liberals and progressive because these people walked away a long time ago, voted for Trump and are now Deplorables and patriots.

The so-called Democrat party right now with Pelosi, Alexandria, Schiff, Schumer and the rest of the traitors are Globalists full of arrogance and condescension who are pretending to be Democrats.

Big difference.

Donald Trump has somehow managed to get the left so far to the left they are starting to fall off the end of the table. Some on the left say this is all Trump's fault as the 'great divider'. I couldn't disagree more. Trump has been successful at ripping the facade off the pretenders, showing them for what they really are: pretentious, intolerant, maniacal hypocrites. Does any established Democrat care about Americans, our safety and financial well being. Nope, they care about keeping their position and doing everything in their power to defeat Trump. They will destroy the village to save it...where saving is universally defined by them as defeating Donald Trump.

I think the Left is doing a superb job. Conservatives are responding exactly as they should as the only adults in the room. Just give the left their shovels and let them dig, with only periodic tweets from the Donald to keep them well motivated. The more motivated, the crazier they'll get and the more out-of-control for Pelosi to try to manage.

While the situations are serious, I have to admit to having some really good belly laughs over how deeply and regularly Trump gets into the left's heads.

They came out so loudly and filled with venom over just the IDEA of illegals being sent to sanctuary cities or states. That provided the clearest example yet of their hypocrisy on the immigration issue. They do not want these people in their cities and towns. Yet they have repeatedly said that all were welcome. They long claimed that it was a manufactured issue. During Obama's time they were fine with him sending lots of illegals to non sanctuary places to strain the resources and budgets of many small towns and counties.

Pelosi has major problems on her team. The attention has all been going to the most extreme people in her party. They have often said and proposed things that most of America does agree with. It is not a matter of 4-5 people.

Trump has won the psychological war. The irony here is that if they had acted even modestly in good faith, they probably could have gotten a lot of things done for average Americans. Those are the very people who will ultimately decide the next election. By refusing to agree on anything that gives ANY credit to Trump, they have locked themselves into a corner that will bring them some very bad outcomes. It couldn't happen to a more deserving group of people.

I agree. When Trump came into office, the smart move for liberals was to suck up to him and co opt him into supporting liberal programs, or liberal versions of conservative programs.

After all, Trump had supported lots of liberal programs and ideas over the years, and had complete freedom to decide what he wanted to do in office.

Instead, liberals chose fanatical opposition to Trump on both policy and personal issues. That has kept Trump reliably carrying out the policies of his working class base, and forcing liberals to ever more extreme politics.

Yes, the reaction of liberals to this Trump proposal has been HUGELY amusing!

That's a great example of Left-speak. It's like how they take time out from their pro-Tolerance march to assault people who express a different view than theirs, or white upper middle class college students agitate for the oppressed People Of Color, but if a PoC has unapproved views (i.e., doesn't follow the Leftist line) they harass and use loudspeakers to drown out her peaceful talk and invitations for others to come to hear her talk (e.g., Candace Owens).
