Not many Americans know that their child can get a FREE university education through the auspices of the French state.

That's correct - to spread Francophone culture, the French government offers free university admission at some of the world's most prestigious schools to any foreigner who cares to apply! The only catch is that the prospective student must pass a high school equivalency exam in French.

So if your kids have an ear for language and an adventurous bent, send them for a year of language instruction in France after high school so that they can pass the exam. When I was in Paris, I met a number of American students at the University of Paris who had followed just this strategy.
