I really had no idea we had two gay city council members. I think it is pretty cool that that type of thing doesn't even come up in normal politics. Obviously, they are openly gay, but it wasn't considered remarkable enough to mention. That's kind of neat.

We also were the first in the nation to legalize gay marriage by citizen initiative and we legalized pot as well, again by citizen initiative.

Washington is a pretty great state.
