Fully agree with you MYCROFT;
I am on a High Tax bracket; every December, I kept receiving these BIG Distributions and my AGI kept going up, as well as my Taxes.
Finally 2 years ago, I found TMF and have since switched 60% of the Portfolio to Stocks. It was a "difficult" decision because I was forced to realize some capital gains (meaning pay Taxes), but I figured I won't be needing the money for another 10-15 years
and should still come out ahead (despite the Capital gains taxes I paid now).
If I had to do it all over again; I would invest 50% in a SP500 index and the remaining 50% in 5-7 CKs.
