I just got a robo-call from PNC Bank (or so the caller-id said), so I picked up and said, "Hi! Are you giving out free samples?" The line then went dead, so I hung up. They sure are dumb. I do not have any account with PNC bank.

It is now about 2:30 in the afternoon, and I have gotten exactly one legitimate telephone call today. Some days I get none. If the telephone companies do not find a better way to control this, people will be abandoning telephone service altogether.

I do have a cell phone, and I control this mainly by leaving it powered off for days at a time, and only on when I intend to make a call.
