Can cree become the next 30, 50, or 100 billion dollar company? Anyone like to explain Cree's future? For example, QCOM gets a certain percent on every cell phone sold with CDMA. We can calculate what QCOM will earn, ect..

Same with Rambus. We can predict how big RMBS could be considering they get 1.5-2% royalties and the DRAM market will become 72+ billion by 2002/03, ect..

Infospace says they'll generate 1-3 dollars per wireless web user per month and considering INSP has signed up 7 of the 9 major carriers in the US and has over 50% share in Europe, its easy to see how big INSP could be. Again, same with Gemstar.

I'm not sure i see Cree's potential? The LED business will most likely become a commodity, so that can't be it. The blue laser is cool, but unless they get patents on the technology then that's not it. Maybe, i'm just not getting it..

I know Cree has a 3 1/2+ year lead on anyone in manufacturing SiC. Cree also has patents which increase the barriers to entry. I'm assuming that long term, the excitement is over the potential of SiC being used in many industries?
