I was just looking at the income statement history for Silver Wheaton [SLW] and am somewhat surprised by the huge discrepancy between operating and net income due to GAAP adjustments. Can someone explain what this means:

	                2004	2005	2006	2007

Total Revenue 10,986	70,895	158,541	175,434
Total Operating Expense 9,221	45,604	73,321	83,550

Operating Income 1,765	25,291	85,220	91,884
U.S. GAAP Adjustment	(8,028)(50,051)(175,973)(213,374)

Net Income (6,263)	(24,760)(90,753)(121,512)
