As much as I agree with environmentalists that the price we pay for gasoline does not capture its true cost (environmental impact, etc), I'm still wary of the argument that we should quit being babies when other people around the world pay more per gallon. We have an infrastructure problem in the US that forces areas of the country with lower median incomes to spend more of their income on gas. I do hope we'll get smarter about gas usage and I hope more viable transport options get more accessible to the average guy. I just hope gas prices don't spike up, leaving certain segments of Americans behind.
