George I'm somewhat like you in this matter I've always felt if you can't run a business on one 8x11 sheet of paper you're in the wrong business.

But at the same time I've found to be a stronger tool in business to keep a personal journal in which I have been able to return to find guideance on many matters.

Business plans are to be changed from time to time and a simple one can be understood with the changes allowing for the value to be placed in the workings of the business.

Enjoy your post on investing and here on self employed, but not always in full agreement.
