I really can't recall where I was on New Year's Eve of 05. Guess it was the same old, same old.

This time's been a bit different.

This time, at the stroke of midnight I was putting strokes on a painting, a brand new little thing I'd only started five minutes before. It had been my goal to 1. get my studio in good working order by tonight, and 2. literally begin 2006 with brush in hand; and I did both.

Tomorrow I'll be at a BBQ party. A tiny little cookoff, actually. 10 or so Qers, possibly some music, definitely my uncle (who invited us) and his Melon Musket. A year that starts with art and BBQ. How much better could it get?

Guess I'll have to wait and see...

:-)
