AS much as I love almonds (my fave nut), 19 gallons of water per lb of CA almonds is just too much during a lengthy water shortage--or, god forbid, the new normal out west.
...19 gallons of water per lb of CA almonds is just too much...19 gallons? That would be **much** better than what it really is. Try 1,900 gallons per pound:To grow one almond requires 1.1 gallons of water, and to grow a pound takes 1,900 gal/ lb.https://findanyanswer.com/does-1-gallon-of-water-make-one-al...Pete
One of Maher's better videos. Could not agree more with him on the misallocation of water resources in the west. Should be required viewing for policy makers.regards, Kris
