Folks: I have not been on this board before so I apologize if this is covered previously. My wife and I have a 1 week time share that we have used for 20 years. We used to drive there in a day now we need to fly since we have moved. Weather was terrible last time that we were there. I don't think the week has any value so I would like to give it away to the resort itself just so I don't have to pay maintenance fees (now up to $511 per year). I called and found that I have to write a letter to board of directors and they will take this up at next meeting in January. My question is if they don't want it, am I stuck paying the maintenance fees until I die. I don't see why I should be forced to pay a fee for something that clearly has no value. Any thoughts on this subject.
