You mention competition to the Garmin Forerunner series, but don't mention any manufacturers and their make and model.

The 205 and 305 are top end units and retail MSRP for over $200 and $300 respectively. My etrek legend for hiking cost (it is not designed for runners and marathoners) cost much less because, maybe, there is a greater market for such devices.

My guess is that the market for high end models like the 205/305 is limited, so Garmin is probably not going to do too much more in that area, unless there is competition from other GSP makers.
