Good for you, Brooklyn. It sounds as if you are well into retiring well on less.

The reduction in our mortgage payments was huge. The price of groceries in the large supermarket one town over is sometimes 50% cheaper than the local supermarket in Brooklyn and the food is so much better here.
Our grown children supply us with theatre tickets in Boston and gift cards to restaurants therefore we are able to see plays at least 4-6 times a year if not more.
Even if we wanted to, we would never have been able to afford to live in our coop apartment in Brooklyn Heights. Not only that, we have family here which makes all the difference in the world.
