More than 200 mobile information professionals from the largest automobile manufacturers, wireless carriers, mobile electronics vendors, homeland defense and computer companies will meet February 24-25 for GPS-Wireless 2005 (http://www.gps-wireless.com) at the Marriott Hotel-San Francisco Airport.

The ninth annual conference, sponsored by Global Technology Communications Inc. (GTCI), features 40 speakers from the top companies. This year's speakers come from Nextel Communications, Sprint PCS, Wheels of Zeus, Bell Mobility, Thales Navigation, SAIC, Qualcomm, TransCore, NAVTEQ, Tele Atlas and many others.

Overall, the mobile information technology market is growing -- particularly for fleet management and security applications. The largest automotive manufacturers, wireless carriers, global positioning system providers, software companies are finding more ways to get information into a vehicle or a mobile device such as a portable navigation system -- whether that be traffic information, location-based e-commerce, navigation and emergency services. In addition, find out what are the hottest markets for homeland security products.

Some questions to be asked at GPS-Wireless 2005:

# When will carriers introduce LBS? What's holding it up?

# What's new with Portable Navigation Systems' markets? Will the units ever have wireless connectivity? Will other features become available such as satellite radio, traffic information and more content?

# Is there a future for aftermarket telematics systems? What about factory-installed telematics? Will it be dominated by the same companies?

# What is the availability of the GPS-enabled phone vs. installed devices for fleets? How is the GPS-enabled phone growing the market?

GPS-Wireless 2005 features more than 40 tabletop exhibits from the top vendors. Sponsorships are sold out, but a few exhibit spaces are available. GPS-Wireless Sponsors include: ALK Technologies, Novatel, Telcontar, Tele Atlas, NAVTEQ, Telogis, ALK Technologies, GeoMicro, Synergy Systems, Aeris.net and GPS-World.

Other conferences cost two-to-three times as much as GPS-Wireless 2005 -- and offer fewer speakers and no networking opportunities. GPS-Wireless 2005 offers a keynote luncheon, networking coffee breaks, a hosted reception and buffet luncheon with tabletops and a 300-page binder full of market information. In addition, GPS-Wireless 2005 offers discounts for two or more attendees from the same company and significant savings on lodging at the Marriott Hotel-San Francisco Airport.
