Grateful here not to have to worry about all that. We are on SS and have a Medigap plan, which costs but covers deductibles.

As for tapping retirement plans, I have managed my IRA for many years (15 or 20) and draw what we need from it, periodically, while working to keep it at the same level or even growing. Not a big IRA, so must be careful.

We also do not have Plan D. Had it for a year and trashed it several years ago; too expensive for what it gave us. Good old Hannaford's plan lets us (usually) buy generics for $9.99 per 90 day supply.
