I believe you're referring to an equity index variable annuity. You will find an explanation of that kind of beastie in post number 11725 on this board. You can read it at this link: Take care here and make sure you understand fully how the annual return will be calculated. These products aren't normally favored by those with a Foolish investing philosophy.
