In the Motley Fool Hidden Gems newsletter, Tom Gardner mentions companies' gross margins and net margins. Can someone explain what these ratios are and how they are used? Thanks!

Yes -- I would point you to David and Tom Gardner's "Rule Breakers, Rule Makers" book. There on pp. 218-24 they go over those two concepts. Any library should have it, or this is just a good book to have. Good luck,
