I'd actually do the opposite. Look, the core product of MongoDB, the database, itself is open-source, anybody can use it for absolutely free (but then they have to scale, manage it themselves). There is a very good chance that features in an open-source product will also be open-source, especially when they are related to cryptography such as Queryable Encryption. It's in MongoDB's interest to open-source the cryptography/algorithm of this feature to get wider crowd and industry experts in open-source community help strengthen it as new threats/bugs are discovered. I have confidence in MDB and Dev to continue to be able to monetize their excellent open-source offering via SaaS.
