The fact that this indicator will most likley lead to trouble was obvious right the start to those who took a step 'outside the box' and looked at the economy and the markets from a non emotional vantage point. A common thing I've seen is that any time any kind of good news, etc comes out folks get all giddy and start paying $50 bucks per share for companies that are worth only about 75 cents. Their logic is the markets are going so they are going to keep going up and they are all going to live happily every after.
