Is it legal to remove DRM from Kindle books I've downloaded so I can read them in a different app (instead of the Kindle app) on my tablet? I've googled the question and have found answers of "yes", "no", and "no one really knows for sure". This would be for my use only. Thanks.

I reply:

Looks to me like it would be in direct violation of 17 U.S.C. § 1201(a)(1)(A). --Bob
