We just enjoyed a small baked ham, and, when it cooled, I proceeded to slice and cut away most of the usable meat for our use in sandwiches and other leftovers.

Question: There is a lot of fat remaining on the bone, not to mention the chunks of fat removed from the meat. Can that stuff be hung outside in a "suet cage" for the birds to enjoy? Or is it too salty or whatever to be safe for them?

I'd love to give it to them, but not if it may harm them.
