So Birthday Hannukah started with a nice smolder this year.

MIL delivered a brand new Weber Smokey Mountain cooker.

Now, just a question - do I need to cure it before I use it? Any suggestions?

Happy Birthday, and congrats on your new smoker ... WSM is, IMHO, the best <$500 smoker on the market. You will not need to *season* it, because it has a porcelain enamel finish ... BUT ... there are some tricks to using it properly & to it's fullest potential. I learned a great deal from this web site, and highly recommend it. Best tips I learned here, and there were many, were:

Minion method of fire control ... and using sand instead of water in the water pan.
