Harlan county KY is all hills and valleys. It can take you an hour to go 10 miles between towns over ridges on winding roads. Right in the middle of Appalachia

They've been mining coal there for 200 years plus. It's coal mining territory. They used to kill a couple hundred folks a year in underground mines and if you met your quota, you'd load '16 tons of coal' a day. It started with black powder - dangerous - then nitrogycerin - even more dangerous....then dynamite......

So now they safely surface mine - and yeah, it doesn't take 5000 miners any longer at a mine - just a couple hundred - high paying union jobs. No 'black lung'.........

So?

NYC? Let's talk about pollution there! OMG! For hundreds of years, they simply dumped their sewerage and garbage into the East and Hudson rivers.....they burned coal and turned buildings and offices black with coal soot. The first commuter trains ran on elevated tracks with coal burning engines right through the middle of 'wealthy neighborhoods' and the wealthy could not escape.....the pollution. The streets were full of horse poop and 10,000 people were employed at night to remove the horse poop every single night. And yes, it stunk to high heaven, especially after a rain!

Now, the liberals go on anti-coal rants......but they are also against fracking to get cleaner burning natural gas.....

the mountain tops will be reclaimed.....they'll be turned into park land..... just like Mt Trashmore in many cities today.......

Meanwhile, it other places, they are mining iron and copper and other metals that make modern life possible. Oh, and oil to make all the plastics that fill houses with 'stuff' from computer keyboards to comfy chairs to just about everything else.

And, of course, you knew, that some of the first oil wells were in DOWNTOWN Los Angeles and there are still working oil rigs there? In lib land in CA. Right next to the La Brea TAR PITS.......

What a bunch of crap from liberal idiots in the video.....
