Have any of you had a similar situation? Could it be something minor? I'm so afraid it's a tumor.

My friend has a relative who's a vet, and I asked her to give the relative a call with your question. The response I got was, "Coughing could be due to many things, not least of which could be a simple irritation. It's possible that [Matlock] was chewing on something that caused an irritation, and that it's a very minor problem....coughing does not in and of itself automatically point to something serious like a tumor."

I'm passing this on to you, FWIW, and hoping that you won't be too nervous between now and Thursday. Good luck with the visit, and please let us know what happens.
