Having been stung by this last bubble collapse where I lost 30% or so of my holdings, articles like this really send alarm bells ringing.

I know what you mean. It cost me 50%. Lucky I was 100% up. Ended up back where I started. I learnt a very valuable lesson very cheaply I feel.

Solid companies with solid earnings are really the only way to go.
You are right and if you do this then none of the rest matters. It's just "noise". Even the alarm bells.
If we are going to have another "30s" style depression then it's most likely going to get everyone anyway, so why worry about it?
