Heather, dear friend.

You have been up and down over this guy since the board started. He threatens you (often when your emotions are at a low due to circumstances over which you have no control, like the MS diagnosis), he whines and complains when the side-effects from the medication leave you too limp to go out on the weekend, he is demanding that your cats be declawed, and he is threatening to sue you and take your own house away from you.

Two boards full of people have told you to dump him.

Even if you are currently friends, get to a lawyer, and get the financial situation straightened out. You don't need the threats and concern. You need to get to a situation where he cannot threaten you and take over the house.

He now has you feeling guilty because you can't buy him a race car. You didn't say whether it was Formula One or NASCAR, but either way it's too much money for the vast majority of Americans, and he's giving you the, "If you really loved me, you would do this," bit.

He is hostile and abusive. He is manipulating you. Talk to a counselor, talk to a lawyer, and dump him. You deserve better.
