Thanks for your timely response.

Yes, the 401K went to a temporary Traditional IRA...then into the ROTH...didn't realize this was omitting critical info.

Each 1099-R does have a different code. The 401K provider code for Box 7 is 'G'. The ROTH IRA provider code for Box 7 is '2'.

I just went directly to Form 1040 & placed $3600 on line 15b, because answering the questions did not work for me--didn't understand all the seemingly double-talk.

It seems doing taxes by pen-&-pencil made more sense than following today's TaxAct computer prompts.
