[[Help - This year I moved funds from one mutual to another within the same
family (Vanguard). Since I did not receive the proceeds I did not think that this
would be a taxable event.]] thought wrong. Uncle Sammy considers it a sale all right...and you have to report it on Sch D.

[[ I have since learned otherwise - I received the
1099B. My question is - is there any way to postpone this capital gain until the
money is actually taken out of the account???]]

Nope. Sorry. This is one of the reasons that you want to be careful when moving these funds. It's's easy...but it's also a sale, and you have tax issues to deal with.

Sorry for the bad news...
