I am requesting help with a few SI Pro MI screens posted and updated here.
I recently started using SI Pro and have been trying to replicate some of the screens I have been looking at in the in Jamies Backtester site and Bill2m Ranking postings.
The two screens I have been looking at the most are the Up_5% and the PIH-naked screens.
I am able to duplicate the weekly results on Bill2m rankings pages for Up_5%, but not with Jamies backtest site.
For instance, for this screen from DrBob2’s 2004 post 158442 :
The Screen criteria for PIH-naked screen are:
1) Price > 10
2) Market Cap > 200
3) Average daily volume > 20K
4) 52-week return top 800
5) 26-week return top 400
6) 13-week return top 200
7) Sort by high (% Institutional Holdings * 4-wk return
for a five-stock monthly: . . .

I am trying to apply the following to SI Pro Screen Editor to reproduce the following:
Define {PIH_Naked}
Uses [SI Price] [SI Market Cap Q1] [SI Volume--Average Daily 10d] [SI Price Change 52 week] [SI Price Change 26 week] [SI Price Change 13 week] [SI Price Change 4 week] [SI Institutional Ownership %] . . . . .
Deblank [SI Price] [SI Market Cap Q1] [SI Volume--Average Daily 10d]
Keep :[SI Price]>10
Keep :[SI Market Cap Q1]>200
Keep :[SI Volume--Average Daily 10d]>20
Deblank [SI Price Change 52 week]
Sort Descending [SI Price Change 52 week]
Top :800 PlusTies
Deblank [SI Price Change 26 week]
Sort Descending [SI Price Change 26 week]
Top :400 PlusTies
Deblank [SI Price Change 13 week]
Sort Descending [SI Price Change 13 week]
Top :200 PlusTies
Deblank [SI Price Change 4 week] [SI Institutional Ownership %]
Keep :[SI Price Change 4 week]>0
Create [PIH4] :[SI Institutional Ownership %]*[SI Price Change 4 week]
Sort Descending [PIH4]
; Top :5
END
++++

I have entered into screen editor fields the following:
Price > 10
Market Cap Q1 > 200
Volume-Average Daily 10d > 20

This is where I am having problem continuing the editing process.
How does one go about in SI Pro doing the following? :
“Deblank” [SI price change 26 Week]
Then Sorting the Top:800 Plus Ties ,
Then deblanking [SI price change 13 Week]
Then sorting the Top:200 plus ties.
Etc , etc to the End.
Is this a process that requires creating multiple successive screens in SI Pro, or can this be done in one Screen Editor creation session ? .
I know this is a more “Advanced” SI Pro screen due to the multiple sorts, etc and would appreciate help from those with more experience in doing this.
I have been looking at the AAII SI software web site and have not been able to find this more advance screen creating information so far today.
If it is too hard to explain how to enter and perform the process with SI Pro on this txt msg board, I would be happy to provide my email address, so those with more experience could send me some actual Screen Shots of their SI-Pro Program “Screen Editor” Window with the above info so I could reproduce the screens with my software.

Thanks for any assistance with this, and sorry for the long msg.

For deblanking, compare to an extreme value. For example:
[SI Institutional Ownership %] > -999999

Deblanking drops tickers with missing data. Missing data is shown as NA in the SI Pro Screener. You could create a custom function to deblank multiple fields.

The SI Pro Screener doesn't have a TOP function. Instead you could:
A. Export data into Excel and sort and filter there.
B. Use [SI %Rank-Rel Strength 26 week] or [SI Rel Strength 26 week] or otherwise modify the screen.
C. Manually adjust the cutoffs to pass the number of stocks required.

"Here is where the trial and error starts. Enter in a value and click the How Many button at the bottom of the Screen Editor window to see how many companies pass for the value you enter." https://www.aaii.com/stock-investor-pro/article/Isolating-th...

I'm not sure weather you just want to run the screen, backtest or both.
The simplest way to do both if you have a valid subscription to SI Pro are:

Most flexible method which allows both backtesting and screening.
1. Download and install Larry Hill's GTR1 Helper from:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/5znrgw63mvnl83y/GTR1%20Helper%204....
2. Install your current SIP program with current data.
3. a.Run GTR1 Helper. b.Select SI Pro Screens, c.From dropdown menue select PIH_Naked
and double click on it, d.Select Launch Type "Basic Format",e.Select Launch URL,
This will open up the gtr1.net with the standard PIH_Naked screen all set up.
At this point you can backtest the screen and see the results and you can modify parameters
to see it any changes help.
But you do not have access to the stocks selected by the screen until you verify you are a current
license holder of SI Pro. To verify you have a valid SIP licence you need to enter a password which
is the MD5 hash code of your SIP downloaded data file. Insert that into the password box and
you are now able to find out which stocks currently pass the screen.

For screening only:
Download Radiscript, an Excel macro program by radish that will run your screens directly from
selected data fields you export from your SIP data using the SIP program. I don't have the current
location where Radiscript resides but you can search for it using DataHelper.
http://www.datahelper.com/mi/search.phtml

For screening only (backtesting is possible but requires you building a database which is very difficult)
download runradis-1,2b from https://sourceforge.net/projects/runradis/files/
This is the program was written by Jim Hahn in 2011. It is used to make the listings each week. It
includes documentation on
how you have to run programs.

All of these methods are better than using the SIP program itself.

You also asked about the Up5% screen.
Using GTR1 Helper I just Ran U5X3 from 19970902 to 20190322 top 10 20 day cycle.
CAGR 26.4, GSD 26.6, MDD -53.6% AT 12.
Year to Year variations are large 2016 49%, 2017 19.8, 2018 -1.36
But a screen like Up5% works much better if you screen weekly to find new stocks with
recent revisions but still hold every pick for 4 weeks.
CAGR 31.5 GSD 25.8, MDD -56% AT 13

Have fun

Thanks RAM and borisand, Jamie, and especially DrBob2 (from way back years ago).
Appreciate your advise on using the SI Pro Software for these screens.
I just like to be able to replicate the screens, which I am still evaluating, with the software program when I need to.
Did not have too much problem reproducing the Up5 screen.
The PIH was a bit more challanging to do with the software.

Thanks again
Lester
