HI Fellow Tax Paying Fools -
I am attempting to fill out my schedule D for income tax year 2001.
In particular my question is on AVAYA
a spinoff off of LUCENT
a spinoff of ATT
What date do I use for the acquired date the date I bought ATT or the spinoff date for AVAYA and why.
This could very well determine long term vs short term gains.
All comments, suggestions appreciated.
