here is something to think about.

I have loaded about 1200 pictures from my family and my parents family onto my computer and my iPod, using a scanner. It took a couple of months scanning about 10-20 pics a night.

How many families in America have boxes and boxes of old pictures? it is a good feeling to know that these precious artificats of our recent ancestors can be saved.

Many pictures I got from Aunts and grand parents were of my great grandfather and extended family in Norway. When I visited there I took many of the pictures with me. It was quite a thrill to have translated to me, from a grand Aunt and 95 years old point out to me her wedding pictures. She was a half sister of my grandfather from the second marriage of g grandfather. She was able to identify a lot of the people in the pictures for me. I have everything written down and finally hope I will start the process as you suggest.
