Hey Duude, interesting musings on demand.

I think you ended with shorts and longs not really knowing about demand beyond knowing that Tesla has managed to sell what it has produced. Tesla is behaving as though it has potential demand that goes beyond current demonstrated demand, and I suspect they could be right. Three main things lead me to hope future demand is significantly higher when future production capacity is happier (when new gigafactories come on line).

1) Tesla has not yet advertised. Anybody who thinks advertising does not increase demand probably is flying in the face of evidence. It is completely reasonable to think that the penetration Tesla gets into the market in california is totally possible, even probable in other places, and that when Tesla's production capacity is higher, they can shift some resources from increasing production to increasing demand through marketing.

2) Model Y, Cybertruck, Semi, and autonomous driving are all products in the pipeline. Even if all do not trigger increased demand, it seems very likely that one or more will hit.

3) The technology of Tesla is amazing and is a moving target. As the pile of Tesla cars that still look new but have 200,000, 300,000 miles on them continues to grow, people will rationally build that into their buying decisions the way they used to with Mercedes and Toyota.

But good to see a fanduuude who admits the future is not known yet even if there are reasons to estimate that it will be amazing!

R:)
