Hey weird! SD Paul, We're actually going to rent in a condo complex. Our landlord told us that we are one of four occupants who are renting. Sounds good! I think that when people OWN their units, as opposed to renting, they tend to take care of the surrounding property better. Seems like that holds up here.

I, too, just closed, amongst other piddly cards, my Circuit City line. It turned out to be a benefit, since I bought my big-screen TV on it and paid it off, INTEREST FREE(!) in 6 months. But yes, same as you, it kinda snuck up on me that I even still had the account. "Closed by consumer request" has SUCH a nice ring to it!

Jake: A westsider, eh? I can't believe what a difference a year and a half makes! I was searching for apartments in Maye 2000 and it was virtually impossible for me to find a place. I finally found one (I wasn't even being picky) just a week shy of my move-in date. Amazing. This time, I was reluctant to give 30-day's without a new place, but I started noticing a few months ago that "For Rent" signs were more prevalent and staying up longer. I found this place within 3 days of giving my 30-day! Not bad! My theory: many former dot-commers are abandoning the Westside for cheaper digs or to move home. What a noticeable sign of the flailing economy, no?
